Margareta – Leucanthemum vulgare – Ox-eye daisy

In May, the fields are full of these ox-eye daisies. In Romanian, their name is Margareta, but many people in the countryside call it Ochiul Boului (in translation, Ox-eye).

It’s flower is rather big, and it is usually found in larger groups – what an amazing sight on the fields full of yellow, pink and green. It really stands out, with its big yellow middle disc and the white florets.

It is a wild, perennial flower, but it can also be cultivated in gardens.

Scientific name: Leucanthemum vulgare
